T: 08445 611 133Many of my clients, from the end user to the agency who is working on behalf of the end user, have at some point, used a data broker to buy in data for their DM activity.
I know and work with many exceptionally efficient brokers in the market place. However, what concerns me is that some of the businesses that I have spoken with, on occasion, have come up against problems when using them. When buying data through a broker, you are in a minimum of a three-way chain. By relying on someone who is in turn relying on someone else can cause problems especially if anything goes wrong and the end user has no contact with the supplier. It can be not only exasperating but also time consuming.
That said, the vast majority of brokers have a great understanding of the industry and can provide an unbiased view on best sources available. A good broker is worth its weight in gold but a bad one tarnishes our reputation as a list supplier. Therefore, I can’t help feeling that in some cases, it is in the best interest for the client to go direct to the source.
Being a list owner with a very varied selection of datasets means I rarely have to source data from brokers and this enables me to give the best level of service and price to my clients.
